Who is Coach Jimmy?
Hey everyone! I'm Coach
Jimmy and I have been playing volleyball since middle school ‘05. (Wow! Almost
as old as you all are…) I have experience in playing high school and college
club volleyball. I still play volleyball with my friends in adult leagues year-round
& all-around Connecticut as well as tournaments in Rhode Island and
Massachusetts! Weekdays from 9-5, I work at a pharmaceutical company in New
Haven, CT as a manager, IT infrastructure systems engineer. I've always had a
passion for technology, and I love integrating technology with Volleyball. You
will see me carrying around technology every practice.
My coaching philosophy for
16s are just have fun and enjoy the game from different perspectives. This is a
winter program and not a high school season. I want all my players to enjoy the
game and not run repetitive drills. I would like to have players play different
positions if they are comfortable. I want my players to keep an open mind and
look at things from different perspective.
I want each player to
encourage themselves to understand their strengths and weaknesses better and
know that as a team, their weaknesses can be masked while their strengths can
be more threatening to an opposing team.
At the end of our short
season together I hope that everyone on my team will remember an “ah-ha!”
moment or a “remember that time” moment.
If you have any questions about volleyball,
feel free to text or email me. I usually don’t answer my phone so if you do
call, please leave a detailed message!
